Grant Request Process with Criteria
The Grants Committee will review each application using the following criteria.
Is the proposed project consistent with the Foundation’s mission to enhance the educational experience of students in the Trenton Public Schools?
Does the grant align with the district’s goals and objectives?
Is the proposal innovative, a new idea or concept?
Is the proposed grant explained well and in detail?
Is the budget request reasonable and sufficiently detailed? Are the funds available from other school sources (i.e., district budget, PTO, etc.)?
Has your application been approved by your building administrator/director? If your grant includes technology, has it been approved by the technology department (Stephanie O’Connor)?
Who will benefit from the implementation of your grant?
Based on the grant committee’s recommendations, the foundation will take one or more of these actions:
-Recommend approval of funding to the Trenton Educational Foundation
-Request additional information from applicant prior to approval
-Invite the applicant to attend a review meeting to answer further questions- Return the application with suggestions for resubmitting prior to approval
-Reject the application
The grant committee will present their recommendations to the TEF Board of Directors for approval. Once approved by the Foundation, the committee will present the Awarded Grants to the Trenton Public Schools Board of Education for acceptance of the funding. Grant awardees will be notified of the status of their grant at the end of the grant cycle and next steps if the grant is approved.
